Historically known as the Watts House, this beautiful Italianate mansion was designed by architect R.C. Burkholder and built in 1878 for Richard Thomas Watts, a properous Lynchburg business man, in the Daniels Hill area, one of the five historic city districts.

The home is furnished throughout with period antiques from the Victorian Era. Your hosts, Mike and Kathy Bedsworth, spent numerous hours researching the colors of the late 1800’s to give visitors a glimpse of what the interior looked like in the past. The Foyer and Parlor, Formal Dining room and all Bedroom Suites are tastefully decorated in an elegant style with a casual aire that will truly provide a little taste of yesteryear.

Breakfast is as much an event as a meal, periodically offering an authentic 1800's breakfast that the Watts family may have enjoyed while they lived here.

Provided the Lynchburg Historical Foundation's 2007 Award of Preservation, the Carriage House Inn is ideal for anyone with a taste for history.
