An Asheville landmark this beautifully restored Georgian mansion, was built c. 1898 by Elmer H. Craig, a former instructor at the University of Wisconsin, and his wife Charity Rusk Craig, daughter of Jeremiah Rusk, Governor of Wisconsin, and a decendent of James Rusk who served in 1777 with the Continental Army.
Located in the heart of Asheville's oldest residential neighborhood, the Montford Historic District, the home is within walking distance of downtown Asheville and retains much of its historic grace and charm with high embossed ceilings, four fireplaces, original golden oak, and classic leaded and stained glass windows.
Your hosts, Jim and Linda Palmer, are passionate about providing the most fabulous full gourmet breakfasts and always willing to share their recipes.
The Lion & The Rose is ideal for honeymoons, romantic couples getaways, and historic site seeing.
